ഇന്ത്യയിലും കേരളത്തിലും സ്ത്രീകളുടെ പേരിൽ ഗവണ്മെന്റിൽ നിന്നു കാശുപറ്റുന്ന ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥകളൂം, ഫെമിനിസത്തിന്റെ പേരിൽ ആക്റ്റിവിസ്റ്റുകൾ ചമഞ്ഞ്, നാടു നീളെ  ഉൽഘാടന കർമ്മങ്ങളിൽ പങ്കെടുത്ത് പ്രസംഗങ്ങൾ നടത്തി നാടിനെ കുളിരണിയിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന സ്ത്രീകൾ മനപൂർവം കണ്ടില്ലെന്നു നടിക്കുന്ന ചില കാര്യങ്ങൾ ഇതാ ഇവിടെ ഗാർഡിയൻ യു.കെയുടെ ഹെലെൻ പിഡ് എഴുതുന്നു.

Why is India so bad for women?

Of all the rich G20 nations, India has been labelled the worst place to be a woman. But how is this possible in a country that prides itself on being the world's largest democracy?

    thanks a lot for reading and commending. The point is that everything written in that post is real. When India Media hide things, there will be people abroad to write about it. that is it.:)

ഗാര്‍ഹിക പീഡന നിരോധന നിയമം പുരുഷന്മാര്‍ക്ക് എതിരെ മാത്രമാണെന്ന് പലര്‍ക്കും ഒരു തെറ്റിദ്ധാരണയുണ്ട്. പക്ഷെ ഈ നിയമം നിസ്സഹായരായ, പീഡനനുഭവിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീകളെ രക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ വേണ്ടിയുള്ളതാണ്, അതായത് ഈ നിയമ പ്രകാരം, ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നത് മറ്റൊരു സ്ത്രീയാണെങ്കില്‍ പോലും ശിക്ഷ ലഭിക്കും. നിര്‍ഭാഗ്യവശാല്‍ നിരപരാധികളായ പല പുരുഷന്മാരും ഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ പേരില്‍ ക്രൂശിക്കപ്പെടുകയും എന്നാല്‍ അര്‍ഹതപ്പെട്ട സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്ക്  ഇതിന്റെ ഗുണം കിട്ടാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നുണ്ട്. മറ്റെല്ലാ നിയമങ്ങളെക്കാളും ദുരുപയോഗം ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്നതും ഈ നിയമം തന്നെ ! 2006 ഒക്ടോബര്‍ മാസം ഈ നിയമം നിലവിൽ വന്നു എങ്കിലും ഇതിനെക്കുറിച്ച്‌ ശരിയായ വിധത്തില്‍ ജനങ്ങളിലേക്ക് എത്തിക്കാനോ പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുത്താനോ ഇന്നുവരെ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല. ഈ നിയമം നിലവില്‍ വന്നതിനു ശേഷവും സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്കെതിരെയുള്ള അക്രമങ്ങള്‍ കൂടിവരുന്നുവെന്നത് വേദനാജനകമാണ്.  ഗാര്‍ഹിക ബന്ധത്തില്‍പ്പെട്ട അംഗങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നുണ്ടാകുന്ന പീഡനമാണ് ഗാര്‍ഹികപീഡനം. ഗാര്‍ഹിക ബന്ധം എന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നത് രക്തബന്ധം കൊണ്ടോ, വിവാഹം മൂലമോ, വിവാഹിതരാകാതെ ദമ്പതികളെപ്പോലെ താമസി...

സ്ത്രീധന നിരോധന നിയമത്തിന്‍റെ സാധ്യതകള്‍   1961 ലാണ്  സ്ത്രീധന നിരോധന നിയമം   നിലവില്‍ വന്നത്. നിയമം നിലവില്‍ വന്ന് ഇത്രയേറെ വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടും സ്ത്രീധനത്തി ന്‍റെ  പേരിലുള്ള പ്രശ്നങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ഒരു കുറവുമില്ല! എന്നാല്‍ സ്ത്രീധന നിരോധന നിയമത്തി ന്‍റെ പേരില്‍ രജിസ്ട്രര്‍ ചെയ്യുന്ന കേസുകള്‍ നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടില്‍ ഇല്ലെന്നു തന്നെ പറയാം! പകരം സ്ത്രീധനം കൊടുത്തു വിവാഹം നടത്തിയ ശേഷം എന്തെങ്കിലും പ്രശ്നങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടായാല്‍ , വിവാഹമോചനത്തിന് കേസ് രജിസ്ട്രര്‍ ചെയ്യുന്ന അവസരത്തില്‍ 'സ്ത്രീധനം ചോദിച്ചു' എന്നോ 'വാങ്ങി' എന്നോ ഒക്കെയുള്ള കേസുകള്‍ കൂടി ഭര്‍ത്താവിനോ അയാളുടെ   വീട്ടുകാര്‍ക്കോ എതിരെ കൊടുക്കുന്നതാണ് കണ്ടു വരുന്നത്‌! എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് വിവാഹത്തിന് മുന്‍പ് തന്നെ ഇത്തരത്തില്‍ സ്ത്രീധനം ചോദിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്കെതിരെ കേസ് കൊടുക്കാത്തത് എന്നത് ചിന്തിക്കേണ്ട ഒന്നാണ് . ഒരുപക്ഷെ വാങ്ങുന്നവനും കൊടുക്കുന്നവനും   കുറ്റവാളിയാകുന്നു എന്നതു കൊണ്ടാവാം സ്ത്രീധന നിരോധന നിയമം ഉപയോഗിക്കപ്പെടാത്തത്! പക്ഷെ  ആലോചിച്ച് ഉറപ്പിച്ച വിവാഹം നടക്കാതെ പോകും എന്ന ഭയത്തിന്‍റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ സ...

In South Africa it's Winter Now

 സൌത്താഫ്രിക്കയിലെ ശിശിരം...... That time of the year is once again around the corner- the wintertime in South Africa. Though South African winter is not that severe as that of Canada or parts of the US, it has its own havocs and calamities. About the winter in Canada, once a relative of my friend told me while at a dinner party. She always keeps a shovel with her as an important rescue tool once the winter starts while at home or traveling. In the early morning she needs it to dig out her precious means of transport to work-her car- from under a mount of ice gathered the previous night, as well on the highways when caught in a snowstorm. Unbearable are the tingles on fingers and toes, she told, once they get frostbitten. Also, the general mood turns tense and a kind of uncertainty creeps in while the only certainty is the uninterrupted weather forecast.
